Rachel Zegler is facing criticism online as she promotes Disney’s live-action “Snow White” film in Spain. Images of Zegler traveling to the premiere, shared by her stylist on Instagram, sparked a wave of negative comments from users. Critics dragged Zegler, predicting the film would bomb at the box office.

One user wrote, “My god, she really needs to win the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actress! That’ll bring her down a peg…” Another added, “This movie is gonna bomb so hard.”

Some speculated that the film’s only revenue would come from its free premiere. “Ha ha ha! Have fun, Rachel Zegler. Can’t wait to see you arrive to an empty theater.

And if it’s full, then clearly Disney paid people off,” a commenter stated. Others criticized Zegler’s public statements. “I kind of felt bad for her at one point, as being cast is Disney’s doing, not hers.

I can even look past silly comments. We were all young once. The problem is, she kept it up.

Snow White controversy overshadows premiere

Actors should know when to be silent on things,” one user commented. The project has been plagued by controversy since Zegler’s casting was announced.

Critics questioned the decision to cast a Latina actress as the fair-skinned princess. Zegler defended the move, highlighting the story’s popularity in Spanish-speaking countries, but her comments about the original 1937 film being “extremely dated” and pushing for a modern retelling without the traditional love story sparked backlash. Disney has scaled back its promotional efforts and opted for a low-key premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The film’s creative choices, such as replacing the seven dwarfs with “magical creatures,” have also drawn criticism. Despite the backlash, Zegler remains optimistic. “People are passionate about this character and this legacy.

I just want to be a part of it,” she said in a recent interview. Set for release on March 21, 2025, the film’s box office performance is under scrutiny. The social media reaction suggests Disney may be bracing for a significant misfire.

Whether Zegler can weather the storm remains uncertain, but the internet has already made its judgment.
