Joshua Jackson has filed an emergency custody order modification against ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith. He alleges that she changed their 5-year-old daughter Juno’s school without his consent. In his court documents, Jackson expressed concerns that Turner-Smith’s decision would disrupt Juno’s stability.
He claimed that Turner-Smith did not see an issue with making Juno start over at a new school. Jackson feared that she might prefer having Juno travel with her instead of attending a traditional school. Jackson has requested that Juno continue at her current school for the next academic year.
He also wants joint consent on any future school changes. Turner-Smith, seemingly responding to the filing, shared an image of animated cartoon villains on her Instagram Stories.
Custody dispute over school decision
The text on the image read, “‘Why don’t you like that person? They seem so nice.’ You know who else seemed to be nice.” She captioned the post, “🤦🏾♀️ stay safe out there ⚠️.”
Reps for both Turner-Smith and Jackson have not yet commented publicly on the matter. The couple, who were married for four years before separating in October 2023, had agreed that Jackson would pay $2,787 in monthly child support after their split.
Court documents reveal that Turner-Smith had been granted the authority to make the final decision regarding Juno’s education. This was provided she consulted Jackson beforehand. In a conversation at the Karate Kid: Legends premiere in May, Jackson mentioned that Juno was set to graduate from Transitional Kindergarten soon.
He said they would make further educational decisions after her summer camp. The legal dispute over Juno’s school marks the latest development in the ongoing custody battle between the former couple. As Turner-Smith’s Instagram post suggests, tensions remain high as both parents navigate co-parenting post-separation.
