MJF, an AEW star, recently shared his experience of being cast in the upcoming Netflix sequel, Happy Gilmore 2. In an interview, Friedman revealed that Adam Sandler himself played a crucial role in landing him a significant part in the movie. “Adam Sandler himself saw my audition and he was apparently laughing like a hyena.
Then he said, ‘I want this guy to audition for a larger role.’ I auditioned for that role and I got it. It’s a big role in the movie, and I’m very excited for its release,” said Friedman. The first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel was released in December, generating excitement among fans for the film’s release.
MJF will be featured alongside Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, who are set to reprise their roles from the original 1996 comedy. When asked about his dialogue in the film, MJF replied, “MJF is eating pretty good in the movie. You’ll be seeing a lot of baby-faced MJF.” The premiere date for Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix has not been announced yet.

MJF credited his talent and representation for securing the audition. “I got the audition because I am very talented and I have very good representatives.
I am repped by both Activists and CAA. I got the best team, easily. They got me the audition,” he said.
Another popular wrestler, Becky Lynch, has also been cast in Happy Gilmore 2. Lynch will be part of a rival group of golfers going against Happy Gilmore, alongside NFL player Reggie Bush. Lynch has been absent from WWE for more than nine months, during which she has pursued other endeavors, including the release of her autobiography.
The addition of these popular wrestlers to the already star-studded cast has wrestling fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release on Netflix on July 25.
