Disney has announced the main cast for the upcoming “Holes” series on Disney+. The show is a reimagining of Louis Sachar’s 1998 novel, which was previously adapted into a 2003 film. Greg Kinnear will play The Warden, the manipulative boss at Camp Yucca who forces the campers to dig holes for a mysterious reason.

Aidy Bryant is cast as Sissy, a camp counselor who seems trustworthy but is loyal to The Warden’s ideology. Shay Rudolph will portray Hayley, the teenage girl wrongly accused and sent to the detention camp, bringing hope and optimism to her campmates. The series introduces a twist by changing the main character from a boy named Stanley to a girl named Hayley.

Most of the campers will also be female, unlike the original novel.
