Ben Affleck recently shared his picks for the hip hop Mount Rushmore during a promotional tour for his new movie, “The Accountant 2.” When asked by his co-star Jon Bernthal to name his top four rappers of all time, Affleck listed Lil Wayne, Eazy-E, Slick Rick, and Kendrick Lamar. Although it seemed like an off-the-cuff response, Affleck’s choices reflect a diverse appreciation for hip hop across different eras. His selections include legendary figures like Eazy-E, often referred to as “The Godfather of Gangsta Rap,” and Slick Rick, a master storyteller from the golden age of hip hop.
Affleck also acknowledged contemporary artists, with Kendrick Lamar, widely regarded as one of the most influential rappers of his generation, making the cut. Lil Wayne, whose highly anticipated album “Carter VI” is set to release in June, rounded out Affleck’s list.

The actor’s Mount Rushmore picks are particularly timely, as rumors suggest that Slick Rick might be working on a comeback album. Affleck’s choices not only showcase his personal taste but also pay homage to the artists’ significant contributions to hip hop culture. In a separate discussion, Affleck shared an anecdote about his 13-year-old son, Samuel, attempting to introduce him to 2Pac’s music.
“My son played me the song the other day, and he was like, ‘Yo, you heard this?’ And he played me ‘Hit ‘Em Up,'” Affleck recounted, humorously noting that he had to remind his son of his own musical knowledge predating Samuel’s birth. Affleck’s recent comments provide a glimpse into his musical preferences and the bonding moments he shares with his son over their mutual appreciation for hip hop.
