Bill Maher, a TV host and political commentator, recently called former President Donald Trump “one of the most effective politicians.” Maher made these remarks on his “Club Random” podcast on Sunday. “Trump is one of the most effective politicians, whatever you think of the policy or him as a person,” Maher said. “Just understanding that always lean in to being more who you are.

The people are not savvy about issues but they smell a phony a mile away. That kind of s–t? Nobody else does it.”

Maher’s comments come after he had dinner with Trump at the White House.

The dinner was organized by musician Kid Rock to symbolize unity. Kid Rock shared his excitement about the event on Fox & Friends. “Everyone was so surprised.

The president was so gracious.

Maher praises Trump’s political strategies

He took us up to the private residence, and we saw the Gettysburg Address and the Lincoln bedroom,” he said.

According to Kid Rock, their conversation covered topics like wokeness and border security. Trump even asked Maher for his thoughts on current foreign policies with Iran and Israel. Maher praised Trump for his assertive political maneuvers.

He recalled an instance when Trump claimed to have threatened a Taliban leader. “When he did that thing where the guy came in from the Taliban and he said, ‘This is an aerial picture of your house. If during our withdrawal one American is hurt, just know I know where you live,’ I was like, ‘Oh, can we just play the music now?

Because I don’t care if he’s the worst person ever, I love that!'” Maher said. The episode aired just days after Trump announced global tariffs, which sent stock markets around the world tumbling. While Maher has been a longstanding critic of Trump, his recent interactions with the former president indicate a shift in tone.
