Bruce Springsteen has released a music video for his new archival song “Blind Spot.” The track will be included in his upcoming box set, “Tracks II: The Lost Albums.”
“Blind Spot” is a brooding, synth-driven song that features a rhythm created by an audio loop. The song discusses themes of doubt and betrayal in toxic romantic relationships. The black-and-white video combines recent footage of Springsteen driving through the desert with vintage clips of him in the studio during the 1990s.
Brief glimpses of a few attractive women also add to the visual narrative. “Blind Spot” is part of the “Streets of Philadelphia Sessions,” one of seven previously unheard full-length albums to be featured in the box set. The sessions originated in the early-to-mid 1990s, around the time Springsteen recorded his Oscar-winning song “Streets of Philadelphia” for the film “Philadelphia.”
During these sessions, Springsteen dove into the popular sounds of contemporary music at the time, including West Coast hip-hop.
He worked on the 10-track album at his Los Angeles home, utilizing drum samples to create rhythmic loops with studio engineer Toby Scott before adding keyboards and synthesizers to complete the tracks. The album was set for a 1995 release but was shelved when Springsteen decided to reunite with the E Street Band after a seven-year hiatus. “I said, ‘Well, maybe it’s time to just do something with the band, or remind the fans of the band or that part of my work life,'” Springsteen explains.

“So that’s where we went. But I always really liked ‘Streets of Philadelphia Sessions’…during the Broadway show, I thought of putting it out [as a standalone release].
I always put them away, but I don’t throw them away.”
The “Tracks II: The Lost Albums” box set, arriving on June 27, spans recordings from 1983 through 2018. The collection comes as a limited-edition nine-LP set, a seven-CD collection, and in digital formats. Each physical version includes a 100-page hardcover book featuring rare photos, liner notes about each album, and an introduction by Springsteen.
In total, the box set will offer over 80 songs, 74 of which are previously unreleased. Additionally, a companion album, titled “Lost and Found: Selections from The Lost Albums,” will be released simultaneously, offering a curated 20-song selection from the larger set in CD and two-LP formats. Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to embark on a 2025 European tour starting May 14 in Manchester, UK.
The 16-date tour will conclude on July 3 in Milan, Italy, featuring rescheduled performances from postponed 2024 dates due to Springsteen’s vocal issues.
