Christie Brinkley, 71, recently posted photos on Instagram showing off her toned abs in a red bikini while enjoying a boat day. The former supermodel, known for her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit covers in the late ’70s and early ’80s, shared her optimistic outlook in the caption. Brinkley first gained fame as a model in the 1970s, appearing on over 500 magazine covers and traveling to more than 30 countries for photoshoots.
Her career began at age 20 when she was discovered outside a phone booth in Paris. In 2017, Brinkley returned to the pages of Sports Illustrated, posing alongside her two daughters. Her youngest, Sailor Brinkley Cook, has followed in her mother’s footsteps, starting her modeling career as a teenager.
Christie Brinkley shares memoir insight
Sailor shared the valuable advice she received from her mother: “I think the biggest piece of advice that she gave me is to, first of all, be as kind as humanly possible to everyone around me that I’m working with. Even if I’m in a bad mood, I try to maintain a reputation where people feel safe, comfortable, loved, happy, and appreciated.”
The bikini photos come just two months after Brinkley celebrated her 71st birthday with a festive gathering alongside her children.
She spoke about embracing her age and not letting numbers dampen her zest for life or work. Brinkley continues to stay active professionally, recently launching a clothing line with HSN and preparing to release her new memoir, “Uptown Girl,” on April 29. The book features over 100 photographs and pieces of her artwork, detailing her life and career.
Through her positive attitude and timeless grace, Christie Brinkley proves that age is just a number and continues to inspire others to embrace life’s adventures.
