Doug Jones, known for his roles in “Hellboy” and “The Shape of Water,” has joined the cast of the indie horror film “The Weeping.” The movie revolves around a group of friends who venture into a protected Native American forest and accidentally awaken an ancient witch that haunts all who trespass. Jones will play the role of a corrupt sheriff named Earl who has been allowing poachers to enter the forest, setting the stage for the horror that unfolds. The cast also includes Lindsey Shaw, Alexis Knapp, Reggie Lee, Chris Zylka, and Shoshana Bush.
“The Weeping” is directed and written by Spyder Dobrofsky, who previously directed the holiday horror movie “One Christmas Wish.” The film combines elements of supernatural terror with the mystery surrounding corrupt human actions. The first image from the production has been released, showcasing Reggie Lee’s character being attacked by a demon.
