Eric Peterson, the guitarist of Testament, recently revealed in an interview with the Scars And Guitars podcast that a much-anticipated collaboration with Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen will not be happening. The news of the potential collaboration had circulated prematurely and apparently caused some friction. “No, that’s not gonna happen,” Peterson stated.

“It was something that was being discussed, and I think it got out there before it was agreeable. And I think she got a little upset — from what I was told. I don’t know.

This is all hearsay for me. But I think it was too much.”

Peterson expressed his disappointment, noting that Jansen would have been perfect for the song they had in mind. “She would’ve been great on this song, by the way.

Testament’s upcoming song without Floor

This song would’ve been perfect for her. And then we were, like, ‘Let’s find someone else.’ But if anybody’s gonna do it, it’s gonna be her.”

He assured fans that the song still sounds great even without the guest vocalist.

“It’s a ballad. It’s really good. It doesn’t really need another singer, but it could have been cool with her.”

As Testament fans eagerly await the band’s new record, they can look forward to the upcoming European tour with Destruction.

The tour is set to kick off on October 5th in Hannover, Germany, and will make stops in various cities across Europe, including Bristol, Birmingham, Dublin, Manchester, London, Antwerp, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Pratteln, Wiesbaden, Milan, Saarbruecken, Ljubljana, Vienna, Wroclaw, Munich, Oberhausen, and Utrecht. Testament continues to be one of the most influential and enduring bands in the thrash metal genre. With a career spanning over three decades, they have released numerous critically acclaimed albums and have been inducted into Decibel Magazine’s prestigious Hall Of Fame.
