Jeremiah Brent, a renowned interior designer, recently shared the most significant design lesson he learned from his mother. Growing up, Brent’s mother taught him and his siblings the art of finding beauty anywhere. “She taught me to find the potential in any space and to value the story of something more than its appearance,” Brent revealed.

This valuable lesson has deeply influenced Brent’s approach to interior design. He now focuses on creating spaces that not only look beautiful but also tell a story and evoke emotion. Brent’s mother encouraged him to be open to inspiration from all sources, not just traditional design elements.

This has allowed Brent to think outside the box and create truly unique and personalized spaces for his clients. “My mother always emphasized the importance of creating a home that reflects your personality and makes you feel comfortable and happy,” Brent said.

“She taught me that design is not just about aesthetics, but also about how a space makes you feel.”

Brent’s mother also instilled in him a love for mixing old and new pieces, as well as incorporating personal touches into a space. This has become a hallmark of Brent’s design style, as he often incorporates vintage finds and family heirlooms into his projects. “One of the things I love most about design is the opportunity to tell a story through the objects and elements in a space,” Brent said.

“My mother taught me to appreciate the history and meaning behind each piece, and to use them to create a narrative in a room.”

Brent’s mother’s influence can be seen throughout his successful career as an interior designer. He has become known for his ability to create spaces that are both beautiful and meaningful, and that truly reflect the personalities and lives of his clients. As Brent continues to make his mark on the design world, he remains grateful for the lessons his mother taught him.
