Lil Kim has responded to critics who took issue with her recent comments regarding the wildfires in Los Angeles. The rapper initially extended her sympathies to the victims of the fires, writing: “Been sending strong prayers up for L.A. and everyone affected by the fires. This is heartbreaking.” She added, “I pray to Jesus that God make it monsoon on LA.”
While her intentions were pure, many fans took her words to mean she was wishing another natural disaster on the already suffering city.
Kim quickly defended her statement, pointing out the true meaning of a monsoon. She shared a screenshot highlighting that a monsoon is “a seasonal shift in wind direction that can cause extreme wet or dry weather,” and added, “For anyone that’s confused. Any questions?”
Despite her clarification, the internet was unforgiving.
