The Future Foundation has partnered with Marvel Comics to produce the first-ever authorized retelling of the Fantastic Four’s early adventures. “Fantastic Four: First Steps #1” is set to be released on July 2, 2025, just in time for the fourth anniversary of the superhero team’s public debut. Acclaimed writer Matt Fraction and renowned artist Mark Buckingham are collaborating on this highly anticipated comic book.
It will adapt the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” movie into a single-issue comic, taking fans back to the thrilling origins of the iconic team. “It’s the moment that changed the world—presented in the most brilliant medium there is!” said a spokesperson from Marvel Comics. “Fantastic Four: First Steps #1 is certain to be a must-have item for those who have looked up to this super team since they made themselves known, and for those who might be unaware of the history behind Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing.”
The comic will recount the Fantastic Four’s first heroic act that saved the city from near destruction four years ago when they revealed their cosmic-powered abilities to the public.
Fantastic Four’s origins retold
It will be modeled as a real-life artifact within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), adding an intriguing layer of authenticity to the storytelling. “What an honor to be asked to help celebrate the fourth anniversary of the Fantastic Four!” shared Fraction.
