Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Washington, is gearing up for an exciting 85th season. The museum will open its doors on Saturday, March 15, 2025, with a diverse array of exhibitions and events. One of the main attractions this season is “Capturing Light: 350 Years of European and American Painting.” The exhibit will showcase nearly 50 works from the 17th to the 21st centuries, exploring how artists have manipulated light in their compositions.
Complementing this exhibition is “Robert Douglas Hunter: Still Lifes,” which focuses on a 20th-century painter influenced by classical painting traditions of the 19th century. The museum will also feature the “1946 Lelong Dance Dress,” examining a collection mannequin often attributed to Christian Dior, and the “Romanian Folk Pottery” exhibition, exploring traditional pottery from Horezu, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage for Humanity destination. In the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Education Center, several rotating exhibitions will showcase contemporary artists and community shows.
