Metallica is teaming up with the American Red Cross to help save lives during their upcoming U.S. tour. The band’s charitable foundation, All Within My Hands, is organizing blood drives at several tour stops across the country. Fans who donate blood will receive a limited-edition Metallica t-shirt while supplies last.

The blood drives will take place inside concert venues as the crew sets up the stage. “The band and their foundation are committed to making every tour stop a better place, and this selfless act of rallying fans to donate blood will leave a lifesaving legacy in many communities,” said Darren Irby, executive director of national partnerships for Biomedical Services at the Red Cross. The Red Cross emphasized that donors of all blood types are needed.

The donated blood will help a wide range of patients, including trauma victims, cancer patients, new mothers, and those living with sickle cell disease.

Metallica, formed in 1981, has become one of the most influential and successful rock bands in history. They have sold nearly 125 million albums worldwide and played to millions of fans across the globe.

The band’s All Within My Hands foundation, established in 2017, has raised nearly $20 million since its inception. This includes $11.4 million in grants for workforce education, $7.4 million to combat global hunger, and $5.2 million for critical local services worldwide. The Metallica x Red Cross blood drive dates span from April to June, with stops in cities such as Nashville, Arlington, Denver, Houston, Atlanta, and Santa Clara.
