Michelle Pfeiffer stars in the upcoming holiday comedy “Oh. What. Fun.” from Amazon MGM Studios. The film, directed by Michael Showalter, will begin streaming on Prime Video on December 3, 2025. Pfeiffer plays Claire Clauster, the matriarch who holds her chaotic and lovable family together during the holidays.

This year, her family gets caught up in their own dramas and forgets about Claire. Without them knowing, Claire embarks on her own festive adventure, free from the burdens of cooking, cleaning, and coordinating holiday events. Her journey leads her to rediscover the true meaning of the holidays.

The star-studded cast includes Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary, Dominic Sessa, Danielle Brooks, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, and Joan Chen. In the teaser trailer, Claire questions traditional holiday norms by asking, “Why does Saint Nick get all the credit?

Michelle Pfeiffer’s festive adventure

Moms do all the work — and nobody mentions what Mrs. Claus does.” This bold move leads her to a series of unexpected and humorous events. Showalter co-wrote the screenplay with Chandler Baker, adapting it from Baker’s short story originally published by Amazon Original Stories.

Showalter also serves as a producer alongside Jordana Mollick, Kate Churchill, Berry Welsh, and Jane Rosenthal. Baker is an executive producer on the project. “Oh. What. Fun.” promises to bring humor and a fresh perspective to holiday traditions.

It is the latest collaboration between Showalter and Amazon MGM Studios, following last year’s “The Idea of You,” starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine. A sneak peek of the film was revealed at Amazon’s Upfronts presentation, generating anticipation for its December release. Mark your calendars for December 3, and prepare for a comedic holiday ride with Michelle Pfeiffer at the helm.
