The ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta are back and ready to bring the drama in season 16. The season premiered on March 9, introducing new faces and welcoming back familiar ones. Porsha Williams has returned after leaving the show in 2021.

Her tagline, “I snatched my peach back, now I’m bringing the juice,” hints at the excitement she plans to bring. However, her budding love/hate relationship with newcomer Kelli Ferrell is already causing tension. The two sat down to discuss the origins of Porsha’s second marriage, with Porsha deflecting and focusing on Kelli’s delivery instead of acknowledging the odd timeline of her relationship.

Drew Sidora’s tagline, “I’ll always be upper-level — everyone else is in the basement,” takes a jab at her husband Ralph. Drew and Ralph are coming up on their 8th anniversary while filming, but rumors of Ralph not divulging his finances raise questions about potential fraudulent activity or a second family he might be hiding. Shamea Morton Mwangi remains loyal to Porsha, but there are rumors of a rocky friendship.

Porsha returns, stirring up drama

A clash with newcomer Angela Oakley stemming from standing up for Porsha boils over at Kelli’s mommy and me event at Balmain. Shamea comes ready to rumble, going in on Angela’s rhinoplasty, calling it a “retro nose.” Angela attempts to clear the air, showing why she’s the wife of “The Enforcer” Charles Oakley.

Angela’s tagline, “If you want to find the shade, just look for the Oak,” is a reference to her husband’s NBA nickname. Though 90 percent of her screen time revolves around him, fans still think it’s cute. Kelli’s tagline, “I’m a mom of four girls.

Give me attitude and I’ll ground you too,” is not particularly memorable, reflecting the indifference to her presence on the show so far. Rounding out the cast is newcomer Brit Eady, whose tagline, “I’m pretty and paid. Of course, there’s haters trying to shade,” seems like an overt dig at Kenya Moore and perhaps some other cast members, reflecting her combative energy.

As the season unfolds, time will tell how these dynamics play out, but for now, the blend of petty squabbles and complex relationships keeps the interest simmering. Fans can catch new episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 every Sunday at 8/7c on Bravo and stream the next day on Peacock.
