Pete Davidson recently opened up about the harassment he faced due to his appearance. In an interview with Page Six, the comedian shared his experiences of being labeled “ugly” and the impact it had on his mental health. “It’s something that sticks with you,” Davidson said.
“People don’t realize the weight their words can carry.”
Despite the negativity, Davidson has become a prominent figure in comedy. He often uses his experiences as material in his stand-up routines. Davidson’s openness about his struggles has resonated with many fans.
It has even inspired conversations on social media about the importance of kindness and the harmful effects of bullying. By sharing his story, Davidson hopes to encourage others facing similar issues to stay resilient and seek support. The former “Saturday Night Live” star also addressed the criticism he’s faced over his high-profile relationships with several A-list celebrity women.
Davidson claims he’s been “harassed” about his past romances due to his appearance, despite his connections with some of Hollywood’s most notable names, including Kim Kardashian and Ariana Grande.
Pete discusses enduring public scrutiny
“Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” Davidson told reporters.
“Look at Paul Mescal, Timmy [Chalamet], Barry Keoghan. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like five years and it made my life a living hell.”
Davidson added that the constant scrutiny was “pretty humiliating and upsetting.” He hoped that fans would focus more on his work rather than his personal life.
“I was one of the youngest ever cast members on ‘SNL’ and all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating,” he remarked. Despite the criticisms and public scrutiny, Davidson continues to remain one of Hollywood’s most talked-about figures, both for his career and his relationships. In a recent interview, Davidson also expressed his support for ex-fiancée Ariana Grande, hoping that she takes home the Oscar for her role in the upcoming ‘Wicked’ film.
“When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” Davidson said. Grande has received her first Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Glinda in ‘Wicked.’ She is up against Monica Barbaro and others in the Best Supporting Actress category. Davidson’s support comes at a time when awards chatter is heating up, and it’s clear that although their engagement didn’t last, the respect and admiration between him and Grande remain strong.
