The 22nd annual SculptureWalk is set to transform downtown Sioux Falls into an open-air gallery this weekend. Crews are actively installing 70 new sculptures throughout the city, replacing the 2024 collection with an entirely new exhibition for 2025. SculptureWalk Sioux Falls, recognized as the largest annual exhibit of public sculptures in the world, has attracted sculptors from all over to submit their work for consideration.

The event, curated by a blind jury, showcases selected artists who loan their sculptures for the collection, with many available for long-term leases or purchase. “This annual outdoor gallery is more than an art display; it’s a celebration of imagination, community, and connection,” said Andrew Eitreim, SculptureWalk Board Chair. “We’re proud to continue making world-class art accessible to all.

SculptureWalk adds new creations

Each sculpture invites us to see our city through a new lens.”

Among the diverse works featured this year is “Jack Rust, the Forest Tinkerer,” created by talented artist Staci Martinez. The exhibition offers a unique opportunity for community members to engage with artists, who will be available on Friday night and again on Saturday to discuss their creations.

Since its inception in 2003, SculptureWalk has installed almost 1,200 pieces of art, with over 220 pieces sold. The city of Sioux Falls and various residents have purchased several past sculptures, which can be seen scattered throughout the city. As the sculptures are installed and the event officially opens, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to explore downtown Sioux Falls and experience the artistic transformations firsthand.

The 22nd annual SculptureWalk promises to be another remarkable chapter in the city’s cultural journey, celebrating the creativity and craftsmanship of artists from near and far.
