Bruce Springsteen has been making headlines during his European tour with the E Street Band. The rock icon has been vocal in his criticism of former President Donald Trump, calling his administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”

During a performance at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, Springsteen didn’t hold back. He stated, “The America I love and have sung to you about for so long, a beacon of hope for 25 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration.”

The 75-year-old artist urged the audience to stand against authoritarianism.

“Tonight, we ask all of you who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices, stand with us against authoritarianism, and let freedom ring!”

Springsteen has used his “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour to voice his disapproval of Trump’s policies. He has criticized the former president for attacking free speech, neglecting vulnerable children, undermining American workers, dismantling civil rights laws, disregarding international allies, and cutting funding for universities. The singer’s hometown of Asbury Park, New Jersey, has shown support for Springsteen amidst his ongoing tussle with Trump.

Signs bearing the phrase “Back the Boss” are appearing around the city, adorned with an iconic silhouette of the “Born to Run”-era Springsteen. The signs, priced at $29, are available for purchase at Rebel Supply on Cookman Avenue.

Proceeds from the sales will benefit the city’s Mercy Center food pantry and family resource hub. The signage initiative has received enthusiastic backing from members of the Spring-Nuts Springsteen fan club. Springsteen’s journey from a disillusioned voice of America to a political activist can be traced back to his early days.
