Taylor Swift’s representatives have issued a strong response after the singer was subpoenaed as a witness in the ongoing legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. The pop star’s name was mentioned in past text messages between Lively and Baldoni, leading to her being pulled into the case. Swift’s representative stated, “Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see ‘It Ends With Us’ until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history.”

The statement continued, asserting that the subpoena was an attempt to use Swift’s name to generate public interest in the case.

“Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case,” the representative said.

Swift team rebuts legal involvement subpoena

The legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively began when Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, accusing him of sexual harassment and a smear campaign.

Baldoni countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, claiming civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.

Baldoni alleges that during a meeting at Lively’s home to discuss script changes for “It Ends With Us,” he was surprised by the presence of Reynolds and Swift. In a text exchange, Lively referred to herself as “Khaleesi” from “Game of Thrones” and mentioned having “dragons,” which reportedly caused confusion for Swift.

Sources close to Swift claim that she felt “used” by Lively in the situation but that the two friends have since “worked everything out.” Both Lively and Baldoni are expected to testify in the upcoming trial, set to begin in March 2026.
