The first image of the late Tony Todd in his final screen role has been released, showcasing his return as the enigmatic William Bludworth in “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” Todd, who passed away at age 69 in November, portrayed the mysterious mortician in previous installments of the franchise, including “Final Destination,” “Final Destination 2,” and “Final Destination 5.”
Rumors suggest that “Final Destination: Bloodlines” will explore Bludworth’s backstory, potentially featuring a flashback to his childhood. However, more details are expected to be revealed closer to the film’s release date. Todd’s prolific career spanned four decades, with notable roles in films such as “Platoon,” “Candyman,” “The Rock,” “Night of the Living Dead,” “Wishmaster,” “The Crow,” and “Hatchet.”
“Final Destination: Bloodlines” is set to bring the franchise back to theaters on May 16, 2025, with the official trailer scheduled to drop on March 25.
The film, described as taking audiences “back to the very beginning,” follows college student Stefanie as she seeks to break a deadly cycle and save her family from a grisly fate.

The cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Rya Kihlstedt, and Brec Bassinger.
Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky direct the film, which is based on a screenplay by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor, with characters inspired by concepts created by Jeffrey Reddick. As anticipation builds for the trailer release, a teaser clip has been unveiled, showing a bartender preparing a drink in a glass containing a hidden shard of glass. With a blend of fresh faces and the emotional weight of Todd’s final performance, “Final Destination: Bloodlines” aims to breathe new life into the series while honoring its legacy.
