Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez were seen arriving at the Dolce & Gabbana store in Milan, Italy on Sunday. They were photographed walking hand-in-hand and being escorted by security. Sánchez wore a long black leather coat, black sweater, and gray checkered pants.
Bezos wore a black shirt and navy blue jacket. An employee carrying clothing in white garment bags followed behind the couple shortly after they left the store. The couple appears to be preparing for their upcoming wedding in Venice, Italy in June.
According to local reports, the couple’s yacht, Koru, is anchored in the Venetian Lagoon and will play a part in the celebration. Invitations have already been sent out to around 200 guests. The guest list reportedly includes Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eva Longoria, Barbra Streisand, Kim Kardashian, and Kris Jenner.
The wedding is expected to be a star-studded event.
Venice prepares for Bezos celebration
Bezos proposed to Sánchez on his megayacht in May 2023 after five years of dating.
The pair quietly started dating in 2018 but kept a low profile until Bezos’ divorce from MacKenzie Scott was finalized. The city of Venice has confirmed that it will host the wedding. In a brief statement, the city did not provide a specific date for the wedding.
Italian media have speculated that the celebration will take place between June 24-26, spanning several days. The city emphasized that only 200 guests are invited, a number easily accommodated without any disruption to Venice, its residents, and visitors. The city underscored its extensive experience in handling international events much larger than this, citing instances such as G20 and G7 summits, the Architecture and Cinema Biennales, in addition to private events and VIP weddings.
“Venice is used to being the stage for events and shows every week, without significant impacts,” the statement added. The city rejected reports that Bezos’ wedding organizers had already booked rooms at Venice’s main luxury hotels and reserved large numbers of gondolas and water taxis, typically used by locals and tourists for daily transportation. “We are mutually working and supporting the organizers to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city,” Mayor Luigi Brugnaro stated.
George and Amal Clooney also celebrated their wedding in Venice in 2014, demonstrating the city’s capability to handle high-profile events with poise and minimal impact on daily life.
