According to a recent survey, homes featuring the modern organic interior design style are likely to sell for more. This trend emphasizes natural materials, unique surfaces, and a neutral color palette, which have become highly appealing to buyers. The survey, which analyzed homes sold in 2024, revealed that properties described with modern organic characteristics fetched higher prices.

Key materials such as soapstone and onyx added approximately 3.5% (around $12,500) to a standard U.S. home’s sale price. Similarly, Venetian plaster walls contributed to a 3% increase in property value, making textured walls one of the most popular features among buyers. Bathrooms designed with a contemporary organic look have also seen a resurgence.

Rise in modern organic interiors

Homes featuring spa-like shower rooms increased in value by 3.3%, highlighting a growing preference for modern, luxurious bathroom designs. Outdoor features were not overlooked in the survey.

Properties with well-designed outdoor spaces saw a 2.8% increase in value, demonstrating that buyers are considering both interior and exterior aspects of a home. For those looking to embrace the modern organic aesthetic, introducing elements like acacia wood fruit bowls, statement pendant lights, natural jute rugs, and woven throw cushions can effortlessly elevate a room’s appeal. Layering ceramics and incorporating rustic finishes further add depth and texture.

These findings underscore the importance of incorporating natural elements and textures to meet current buyer preferences, potentially increasing the overall value of a property.
