Ram Charan’s upcoming film “Peddi” has officially confirmed its release date as March 27, 2026.

The announcement has caused ripples in the industry, with Nani’s film “The Paradise” now reconsidering its plans to release on March 26, 2026. “The Paradise” team had been promoting their release date for months, even unveiling a special poster with the message “One Year to Go.” However, with “Peddi” occupying the adjacent date and bringing massive buzz, it’s unlikely that Nani’s film can go head-to-head with Ram Charan’s big-budget project.

Nani recently announced a new project as a producer, to be directed by Srikanth Odela, set to begin next year. With Odela’s previous success and strong rapport with fans, it’s unlikely that either he or Nani would want to risk clashing with Ram Charan’s film and potentially upsetting the massive Mega fan base. All signs point to a strategic shift for “The Paradise,” as “Peddi” now firmly claims the March 27 spotlight.

“Peddi” promises to be a captivating Telugu cinema experience.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, known for his acclaimed film “Uppena,” this movie stars Ram Charan alongside Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The filmmakers released a short 1-minute glimpse titled “Peddi First Shot” to coincide with Ram Navami.

The glimpse showcases Ram Charan stepping onto a dusty ground, greeted by cheering crowds. He is seen smoking a beedi and articulating his philosophy of living life to the fullest. The teaser concludes with an exciting scene of Ram playing cricket, leaving fans eagerly awaiting more.

“Peddi,” tentatively titled RC 16, marks Ram Charan’s 16th film.

Peddi confirmed for March 2026 release

The filmmakers revealed the film’s title and Ram’s first look on his 40th birthday.

With a rugged appearance, complete with a scarred face, unruly hair, and a beard, Ram embodies a raw and rustic character. Alongside Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, “Peddi” features Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in significant roles. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.

The music composition is curated by an ensemble team, while R Rathnavelu serves as the cinematographer. Ram Charan’s career has seen significant highs and lows. While he celebrated success with the blockbuster “RRR” in 2022, he faced setbacks with films like “Acharya.” Nevertheless, Ram Charan remains a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, with future collaborations raising expectations.

AR Rahman, though considered to be past his prime, continues to bag significant projects in his career. One such project is “Peddi,” featuring Ram Charan. Ever since the teaser for “Peddi” was released, Rahman has been praised for his outstanding background music (BGM).

Just a few weeks ago, Rahman faced criticism for his work on “Chhaava,” with some feeling that his BGM for the project could have been much better. However, with “Peddi,” Rahman has managed to silence his critics, demonstrating that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the film industry. “Peddi” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 27, 2026.
