The legendary sludge metal band Acid Bath reunited last night for their first show in 28 years. The concert took place at the Fillmore in New Orleans, Louisiana. The current lineup features original members Dax Riggs on vocals, Sammy Duet and Mike Sanchez on guitars.

They are joined by Scott Schmidt on bass and Jimmy Kyle on drums. Acid Bath performed songs from their classic albums “When the Kite String Pops” and “Paegan Terrorism Tactics.” The setlist included fan favorites like “Tranquilized,” “Graveflower,” and “Scream of the Butterfly.”

A highlight of the night was the live debut of the track “Dead Girl.” The band also paid tribute to their late bassist Audie Pitre, dedicating “Scream of the Butterfly” to him. Pitre tragically passed away in 1997.

Photographer Danin Drahos captured stunning images of the reunion show. His shots showcase the raw energy and emotion of Acid Bath’s performance.

Acid Bath’s reunion tour begins

Fans traveled from far and wide to witness this historic event. Among them was Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe, who watched the concert with reverence. When asked about the reunion back in January, Dax Riggs stated, “[Acid Bath has] always been there in the shadows, and it [finally] found a way out.”

This show marks the beginning of Acid Bath’s long-awaited reunion tour.

The band has dates scheduled at major festivals and venues across the United States in the coming months. Metal fans are thrilled to see Acid Bath active again after nearly three decades. The group’s unique blend of sludge, doom, and experimental elements made them a pioneering force in the 90s.
