New series Countdown stars Ackles and Dane

Jensen Ackles and Eric Dane star in a new action series called “Countdown.” The show will premiere on June 25, 2025, with three episodes on Amazon Prime Video. The series was created by Derek Haas. It follows LAPD detective Mark Meachum, played by Ackles.

Meachum is recruited into a secret task force with undercover agents from different law enforcement branches. They are investigating the murder of a Department of Homeland Security officer in broad daylight. The investigation uncovers a sinister plot.

This leads to a race against time to save millions of people in the city. Ackles is known for his role as Soldier Boy in “The Boys” on Prime Video.

Countdown premiere date announced

He will play that role again in the upcoming prequel “Vought Rising.” Ackles has also been in many other shows and movies. These include “Gen V,” “Supernatural,” “Kings of Con,” “Justice League: Warworld,” “Dawson’s Creek,” and “Days of Our Lives.”

Eric Dane played Dr. Mark Sloan on “Grey’s Anatomy.” He has also been in “X-Men: The Last Stand,” “Burlesque,” and “Feast.”

The cast of “Countdown” includes Jessica Camacho, Violett Beane, Elliot Knight, and Uli Latukefu.

The series is executive produced by Haas. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Ackles’ production company, Chaos Machine. Haas is now under an overall deal at the studio.

“Countdown” was developed as a starring vehicle for Ackles. Amazon has released first-look photos from the series. This has increased excitement for its summer debut.
