Miley Cyrus has done it again. The singer released her ninth studio album, “Something Beautiful,” on Friday. She also dropped a music video for her song “Easy Lover.”

In the video, Cyrus performs a dance routine.

She wears vintage Mugler chaps and a matching bra. Both are from Thierry Mugler’s 1992 collection. “Something Beautiful” is a very personal album for Cyrus.

She worked with producer Shawn Everett on the project. It features collaborations with artists like Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell. Cyrus’ boyfriend also contributed to the album.

Cyrus directed the visual component of “Something Beautiful” with Brendan Walter, Jacob Bixenman, and Panos Cosmatos.

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Cyrus said the film “has no story.” Instead, it focuses on the music.

“The music is the story. Every song is storytelling,” she said. “Even though this has become very psychedelic and over the top like everything that I do, at the end of it, the heart of it is just the music.

Really, the storytelling. So, there was no need for characterization because I’m the character. And I never want to become something or someone that I’m not.”

“Something Beautiful” comes after Cyrus’ last album, “Endless Summer Vacation.” That record earned her six Grammy nominations in 2024.

She was up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single “Flowers.”

Cyrus said “Something Beautiful” is “just the appetizer” for her next album. She described that upcoming project as “extremely experimental.” Fans in the U.S. and Canada can see the “Something Beautiful” visual film in theaters on June 12. Tickets are on sale now.
