Suzanne Nance, the President and CEO of All Classical Radio, announced she will step down from her position later this year. Nance will relocate to Ireland to join her husband, conductor and composer Desmond Earley, who has been splitting his time between Europe and Oregon for the past decade. Nance will assume a leadership role with a premier arts organization in Europe.

She began her journey with 89.9 KQAC Portland in 2015 as Program Director and afternoon host. In 2018, she became President and CEO, steering the organization through significant growth. “I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary chapter of my life,” Nance said.

“It has been an honor to lead this remarkable organization and to work alongside a phenomenal Board of Directors and our ever-inspiring Board Chair Elaine Durst. We truly have an exceptional team and a vibrant, supportive community of listeners.”

Under Nance’s leadership, All Classical Radio achieved record-breaking audience numbers, launched the award-winning International Children’s Arts Network (ICAN), and opened a cutting-edge broadcast facility in downtown Portland.

Elaine Durst, Board Chair of All Classical Radio, remarked, “Suzanne has transformed All Classical Radio into a world-class cultural institution. Her vision, creativity, and dedication to excellence have inspired all of us, and her impact will be felt for generations.”

Nance’s career includes influential roles at stations such as WHYY-FM Philadelphia, Aspen Public Radio, Maine Public Broadcasting, and WFMT Chicago. The Board of Directors will initiate a national search for Nance’s successor in the coming weeks.

While excited for her new chapter in Ireland, Nance expressed she will always carry Portland and All Classical in her heart.
