Julian McMahon, the Australian-American actor known for his roles in “Nip/Tuck,” “Charmed,” and “Fantastic Four,” passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 56. His wife, Kelly McMahon, announced his death in a statement shared with “Good Morning America,” revealing that he died peacefully in Clearwater, Florida, following a private battle with cancer. Kelly’s statement read, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.
Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends.

He began acting in Australian soap operas in the early 1990s and found success in the United States with roles in “Another World,” “Charmed,” and “Nip/Tuck.” His breakout role was as the half-human, half-demon Cole Turner on “Charmed,” which he played for three seasons. In “Nip/Tuck,” McMahon portrayed the promiscuous plastic surgeon Dr. Christian Troy, starring opposite Dylan Walsh’s Dr.
Sean McNamara. The show ran from 2003 to 2010 and explored the complex relationship between the two doctors as they ran a plastic surgery practice in Miami and later in Los Angeles. McMahon also played the villainous Dr.
Victor Von Doom in two “Fantastic Four” movies. One of his final projects was the 2025 Netflix thriller “The Surfer.”

Ioan Gruffudd, who played Mr.
Fantastic opposite McMahon’s Dr. Doom in “Fantastic Four,” expressed his sorrow, saying, “Even though we played each other’s nemeses, there was always so much lightness and laughter working together. Every encounter with him was a joy.
It was an honor to be Dr. Richards to his Dr. Doom. My heart goes out to his wife and family.
God speed Julian.”
