She graduated from St Hugh’s College at Oxford. “It is a privilege to have this opportunity to engage with the next generation of global leaders and to contribute to the vibrant academic community at Oxford. I look forward to collaborating with both faculty and students to advance access to justice around the world,” Clooney said.

Her appointment comes just weeks after Rishi Sunak was named a distinguished fellow and member of the school’s “world leaders circle.” The Blavatnik School of Government offers a comprehensive one-year master’s program in public policy, covering disciplines such as economics, philosophy, political science, and law. Clooney has a distinguished career, having won landmark cases on behalf of victims of genocide, sexual violence, and persecution.

In 2016, she co-founded the Clooney Foundation for Justice with her husband, actor George Clooney. The foundation provides legal aid for free speech and women’s rights cases in over 40 countries. She was previously a visiting professor at Columbia Law School in New York and has published two textbooks on international law.

The Clooneys, parents to seven-year-old twins, have homes in various parts of the world, including Berkshire, the south of France, Los Angeles, and New York.
