Bill Maher recently had dinner with former President Donald Trump at the White House. The meeting was arranged by singer Kid Rock, who is a Trump supporter. Kid Rock said the dinner “could not have been better.” He said Trump was “so gracious” and gave the guests a tour of the private residence, including the Lincoln Bedroom.

“We talked about things we had in common, like wokeness and securing the border,” Kid Rock said on Fox & Friends. “The president also asked Maher about his thoughts on policy matters concerning Iran and Israel.”

Kid Rock said the meeting “blew my mind” and that he was “very proud.”

Before the dinner, Trump expressed doubts about how it would go. “I really didn’t like the idea much, and don’t like it much now, but thought it would be interesting,” he said.

Maher, who has been critical of Trump, said on his show that it’s important to reach across the political aisle.

“I’m not playing this game where like, ‘You can’t sit at my lunch table because I’m just not talking to you.’ Not talking to you?

You lost the election,” he said. “Who do you think you have to talk to? It’s one thing if you win it; it’s another thing if you lose it.”

Maher said he will “talk to anybody” and that it’s an “honor to be invited to the White House under any circumstance.”

“I am wearing a suit and tie.

It’s a sign of respect. It’s the White House!” he said. “You also have to respect that the guy did win.

It’s more than half the country.”

Kid Rock said he hopes the White House will release some photos from the meeting, even though guests had to check in their phones.
