Channing Tatum has showcased a remarkable body transformation, shedding an impressive 60 pounds for his upcoming role in the film “Roofman.” The actor, known for his roles in “Magic Mike” and “21 Jump Street,” took to Instagram to share his physical journey through a series of shirtless photos. Tatum revealed that he had previously bulked up to 235 pounds for the movie “Josephine” but has now slimmed down to a lean 172 pounds. He expressed gratitude to his genetics, chef, nutritionist, and trainer for their support during this challenging process.

However, the actor also acknowledged the increasing difficulty of such drastic weight changes as he gets older. “I won’t be doing any more fat roles,” Tatum stated.

Tatum’s weight loss journey

“It’s too hard on the body and too hard to take off now. But it’s wild what the human body and will can do.”

“Roofman,” set to release on October 3, is based on the true story of a former Army Ranger who resorts to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs. Producer David Kaplan describes the film as a story of a family dealing with personal trauma after encountering something unexpected and horrifying in Golden Gate Park.

In his personal life, Tatum recently ended his engagement to actress Zoë Kravitz, whom he met while working on the film “Blink Twice.” Despite their split in October, Kravitz spoke warmly of Tatum and their collaboration, expressing gratitude for their time together. Tatum’s dedication to his craft, as evidenced by his willingness to undergo extreme physical transformations, continues to earn him admiration from fans and industry insiders. However, his decision to step away from roles that require such drastic weight changes highlights the importance of prioritizing one’s health and well-being in the demanding world of Hollywood.
