We have to move some things around and alter others, allowing our minds to stray from the game in order to come back to it. But all those decisions get made before I start writing.”

The team is carefully planning out Season 3 and the rest of the series.

Season 3 narrative restructure plans

Mazin emphasized the importance of having a master plan to execute the show at a high level. “For things to be executed at this level, there has to be a master plan. The experimenting should happen before writing so that we understand how everything connects,” he stated.

Season 2 has already seen notable changes compared to “The Last of Us Part II” video game. One significant change occurred in the second episode with a major attack on Jackson and the murder of Joel. Pedro Pascal has taken a backseat in Season 2, allowing Bella Ramsey, who portrays Ellie, to step into a more prominent role.
