Bell Media has announced a significant expansion of its Crave streaming service, aiming to offer a broader selection of content to its users. The expansion includes the addition of national and local newscasts from CTV News and Noovo Info, as well as select sporting events. Crave subscribers will also gain access to content from Bell Media’s entertainment specialty portfolio, including networks such as USA Network, Oxygen True Crime, and Canal Vie.
The service will feature an extensive free catalog of movies and shows, including selections from CTV Movies and CTV Throwback, which were previously available only on CTV.ca and Noovo.ca. The premium slate of programming on Crave will continue to feature popular titles from HBO and Max Originals, the DC Universe, and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, along with an ever-growing range of Crave Originals such as “CANADA’S DRAG RACE,” “EMPATHIE,” “LETTERKENNY,” “OD TENTATIONS AU SOLEIL,” “SHORESY,” “SO LONG MARIANNE,” “VIE$ DE RÊVE,” and “BILLIONNAIRE MURDERS.”
Families will appreciate the addition of a wide selection of kids’ programming to the platform. Customers who subscribe to CTV and Noovo through a television provider will continue to enjoy their existing subscribed content and gain access to additional free content from CTV, CTV 2, and Noovo, including CTV Movies and CTV Throwback, upon authenticating their accounts.
Crave expands content with versatility
Sean Cohan, President of Bell Media, stated in a press release, “Bell Media continues to charge forward with investment in Crave, dramatically broadening content available across entertainment, news, and sports. Our focus is unwavering: to deliver the best storytelling, enhanced discoverability, and an enjoyable user experience to our over 4 million subscribers.”
The expansion is set to add over 10,000 hours of new material to Crave’s library by the end of 2025, resulting in a library growth of more than 30 percent.
Some of this content will be accessible for free with an ad-supported account. Bell Media also announced plans to introduce a free, ad-supported tier that offers content from CTV, CTV 2, CTV Movies, CTV Throwback, and Noovo. The enhanced Crave platform will feature improvements to the user experience and interface, including personalization and recommendation features, multi-language capabilities, and an enhanced Connected TV design.
Additional details about the new packages, supporting platforms, and pricing will be announced in the coming months as Crave continues to evolve and cater to the diverse entertainment preferences of its growing subscriber base.
