Denis Stoff, former vocalist of the rock band Asking Alexandria, has made serious allegations against his former bandmates. Stoff claims the band owes him approximately $5 million in unpaid royalties from their album “The Black,” which he performed on during his tenure with the group from 2015 to 2016. Stoff took to Instagram to air his grievances, providing insights into ongoing financial disputes.

“I would never return to a band that has still NEVER presented a single royalty statement for ‘The Black’ album and has failed to pay out an estimated $5,000,000 of my profit share, as stipulated in the contracts I signed with them,” he stated. He detailed that this includes revenue from song authorship, sales, streams, deals, show tickets, performance guarantees, and worldwide merchandise sales. Stoff claims he has sent countless email requests regarding this situation to the band and their representatives, all of which have been ignored for nearly 9 years.

“Back in 2015-2016, I was misled into believing the business side was transparent and that I would receive all of my royalties in full and on time,” Stoff revealed, expressing frustration over the lack of transparency and communication from his former bandmates. Stoff’s allegations were prompted by ongoing backlash against Asking Alexandria’s current performances, particularly during their recent Warped Tour show. Fans displeased with current vocalist Danny Worsnop questioned Stoff about the possibility of his return to the band.

In response, Stoff not only voiced his agreement with the criticisms but also clarified why rejoining the band is out of the question. “I laughed years ago when [current vocalist] said that I was performing to his backing tracks, which was an awful and 100% fake statement.

As you can see in their Warped Tour 2025 show, [the band] is clearly having tons of backing tracks in their live set and is incapable of giving a good performance,” Stoff claimed. Stoff concluded his message by thanking his supporters. “For almost a decade, I stayed silent and ignored all of the witty comments meant to cover up my departure.

But now, considering everything that has happened over time, I simply can’t help but share the truth with you. Thank you so much for your continuous support. I love you all dearly.”

As of now, Asking Alexandria has not publicly commented on Stoff’s allegations.

It remains to be seen how this dispute will unfold, but tensions between Stoff and his former bandmates are clearly far from resolved. Fans are eagerly awaiting the band’s response and future performances in light of these serious accusations.
