Rapper Dody6 is facing hard times despite being featured on Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, “GNX.” In a recent social media post, Dody6 revealed he has lost his home and is now homeless. “I lost my house, n***a. I’m homeless,” Dody6 shared.
“I fell down. I’ma bounce back up though. Watch this.”
The California rapper expressed frustration that his collaboration with Lamar did not change his real-life situation much.
“That f*****g song with Kendrick ain’t change s**t. The f**k is that changing?” he questioned.
Dody6 faces setbacks despite feature
Dody6 emphasized that clout alone is not enough to survive, saying, “I’m still from 40s. I’m still over here… You act like a n***a got a million dollars for that s**t.”
The rapper’s troubled state became more evident after YouTuber Adam22 shared private messages where Dody allegedly mentioned struggling with meth addiction and criticized Lamar.
“Bro post I’m on meth… idgaf,” Dody apparently texted Adam22, adding, “Post Dody is on meth and say K Dot is a b***h ain’t tapping in.”
Some fans on social media commented that Dody6 did not make the most of his feature opportunity, unlike fellow artists Azchike and SZA who are also featured on “GNX.” One user noted, “Smh life is all about how you use opportunities, man.” Another user expressed concern, “Dody6 lost his child, is homeless, and is on drugs. He needs serious help.”
Despite his current hardships, Dody6 has not given up on his dreams of making it big in the music industry.
The news of his homelessness coincides with Kendrick Lamar beginning his “Grand National” tour alongside SZA. The music industry remains a challenging field where even a significant co-sign or feature does not always translate to lasting success. Dody6’s story underscores the stark realities that many artists face behind the scenes.
