Exodus parts ways with vocalist Steve Zetro Souza

Steve “Zetro” Souza, the former vocalist of the thrash metal band Exodus, has claimed that he was fired from the group. Souza made these statements in response to fans’ questions on his Instagram account. When asked why he left the band, Souza clarified, “I did not leave, I was let go!!” He further explained, “If you read the statement it says EXODUS has parted ways, not Zetro has parted ways!”

Exodus announced Souza’s departure last month, welcoming back a former frontman in his place.

The band stated, “Exodus have parted ways with Steve ‘Zetro’ Souza. We thank Steve for his years fronting the band and all the killer music we made during that time.”

Souza first joined Exodus in 1986 and remained with the band until 1993. He returned briefly from 2002 to 2004 before being replaced by Rob Dukes.

In 2014, Souza rejoined the band once again. Fans have expressed their appreciation for Souza’s contributions to Exodus, with one person writing, “I was and still am pissed they let you go, you are the voice of Exodus.”

The split marks another significant chapter in the band’s history.

Exodus has announced a series of concert dates for later in 2025, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their debut album, “Bonded by Blood.”

Guitarist Gary Holt confirmed Souza’s dismissal, stating, “If I told you, you’d understand. I’ve no desire to talk badly about him. It’s a marriage, being in a band.

Behind closed doors, the marriage was done and over.”

Fans are eager to see what the future holds for both Exodus and Souza as they move forward separately.
