Gary Holt, the guitarist and main songwriter of the thrash metal band Exodus, recently shared exciting news about the band’s latest project in an interview on The Chuck Shute Podcast. Holt revealed that the band is currently in the studio working on not one, but two new albums simultaneously. “We’ve been in the studio for two weeks now. Tom’s wrapping up drums,” Holt said. “We’ve set ourselves an ambitious goal on this record. We’re recording two albums right now.”

The band is just a few songs shy of reaching their goal of having enough material for two full-length albums.

Holt emphasized that there will be no filler tracks, stating, “We figured if we have the songs, let’s record them.

And when it’s time to release the follow-up, it’s done, it’s in the can.”

When asked about the timeline for the release of the two records, Holt responded, “Yeah, we’ll keep it in the can, ready to go, and won’t have any downtime.

We’re not getting any younger. We might as well work a little extra hard now while we can.”

The band is aiming for a spring release next year, with Holt explaining, “We’re shooting for a spring release of next year, like late winter, spring. We were hoping to get it done this year, get it out this year, but we would have had to rush it.

And since we’re trying to record 20 to 22 songs and we needed the time, it’s gonna be worth it in the end. And the shit is fucking phenomenal.”

Fans can expect a substantial body of work from Exodus, with the band working hard to create a follow-up to their 2021 release, “Persona Non Grata.” The dual-album project showcases the band’s dedication and work ethic, as they strive to deliver high-quality thrash metal to their fans. In addition to the studio updates, Exodus is also gearing up for a North American tour with Deicide and Misfire, set to kick off in April 2025.

The tour will follow two special shows in the Bay Area celebrating the 40th anniversary of their influential album “Bonded By Blood.”

As the band continues to finalize the much-anticipated albums, fans can look forward to more updates and exciting developments from Exodus in the coming months.
