Devin Walker and Leroy Garrett, two strong competitors on The Challenge All Stars 5: Rivals, found themselves unexpectedly eliminated in the latest episode. The duo had been consistently performing well in daily challenges, but their success put a target on their backs. Devin and Leroy had formed a strategic alliance with Frank Sweeney and Sam Bird, agreeing to protect each other.
However, when Frank and Sam gained power, they chose to send Devin and Leroy into elimination instead of honoring their deal. “We weren’t shocked by their decision,” Devin said in an interview. “During our conversation, it was clear they believed we should convince them not to put us in, despite our prior agreement.
This lack of remorse from two people we had saved was more surprising than the elimination itself.”
Devin explained that he had held Sam in high regard and believed she was undervalued in the game. “I saw a bit of myself in her,” he said. When asked if the betrayal impacted their relationship, Devin was clear.
Unexpected elimination rocks the challenge
“I don’t want people who fold under pressure in my circle. Compromising morals for a game show isn’t something I respect.”
In the elimination challenge, called “Over a Barrel,” each team had to hold a rope rolling over 18 barrels and slot them into designated places.
The barrels then became a puzzle that needed to be solved. Despite their best efforts, Devin and Leroy couldn’t outlast their opponents, Adam Larson and Steve Meinke, who secured their fourth elimination win. Fans of the show took to social media to express their disappointment about Leroy and Devin’s exit.
“OMG!! Leroy and Devin!!! Damn I wanted them to win so f**king bad!” wrote one fan. Another commented, “Wow Leroy and Devin taken out. Y’all better quit putting Steve and Adam in because it seems like no one can beat them.”
