Grimes, the Canadian musician and former partner of Elon Musk, has once again called on the billionaire to keep their children out of the public eye. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Grimes expressed her frustration with Musk’s decision to display their children publicly and shared that she has attempted legal recourse to keep their lives private. “I have tried begging the public and my kids’ dad to keep them offline, and I’ve tried legal recourse,” Grimes wrote.
“I’ve seen young people destroyed by the internet too. The state of my children’s lives being public is of grave concern to me, and I think about how to solve this every day.”
Grimes and Musk, who ended their relationship in September 2021 after three years together, share three children: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl, and Techno Mechanicus. Musk is a father to 14 children in total, with six from his ex-wife Justine Wilson, four with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and one with influencer Ashley St. Clair.
Grimes advocates for children’s privacy
Last month, Grimes addressed the public visibility of their son X after an incident during a visit. She responded to a user on X, saying, “He should not be in public like this.
I did not see this, thank you for alerting me. But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”
In her recent post, Grimes also addressed a fabricated claim about her supposedly writing about the “sexuality and kinks” of Fortune 500 CEOs. She stated, “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet.”
Grimes expressed her concern about the lack of legal protection for children’s privacy, saying, “It’s insane to me that there’s no way to deal with this.
I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives, but I don’t even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it, to be honest.”
She concluded her post by highlighting the current state of information content and privacy, stating, “We are in the Wild West of information content and the dismantling of privacy, and it’s very concerning.”
