Grinderman, the side project of Nick Cave and bandmates Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, and Jim Sclavunos, will reissue their full discography on July 18. The three albums – “Grinderman” (2007), “Grinderman 2” (2010), and “Grinderman 2 RMX” (2012) – will be available on eco-conscious black vinyl and digisleeve CD editions. Formed in 2005, Grinderman provided a raw and primal outlet for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, harkening back to Cave’s early post-punk roots.

The self-titled debut was recorded with producer Nick Launay, who also worked on the following two albums. The band’s third and final album, “Grinderman 2 RMX,” featured collaborations and remixes with artists such as Robert Fripp and Josh Homme. Despite disbanding in 2011 with a brief reunion in 2013, Grinderman left a significant mark on the music scene.

Reissue details and preorder information

While Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have continued to tour and release new material, fans have long been asking for more from Grinderman. Although new material doesn’t seem to be on the horizon, the reissues provide an opportunity for both new listeners and longtime fans to experience the band’s influential sound with fresh ears and updated formats.

All formats are available for preorder now, alongside a new range of merchandise. The reissues include the original tracklistings for each album, with “Grinderman 2” featuring a 16-page booklet on vinyl and a 28-page booklet on CD. “Grinderman 2 RMX” will be a 2-LP set on vinyl and a single CD.

The reissue of Grinderman’s discography marks a celebration of the band’s brief but impactful career, allowing their music to reach a new generation of listeners while satisfying the desires of dedicated fans.
