Jennifer Garner is celebrating her 53rd birthday by running for charity. She shared a video on Instagram announcing her goal to run or walk one mile a day for the next 67 days. Garner is collaborating with Save the Children to raise money for “ready-to-use therapeutic food” for children at risk of dying from hunger.

In her video, Garner explained her motivation, saying, “I just couldn’t bear the thought of my kids going to bed hungry, so knowing that 16,000 kids on this planet are at risk of dying of preventable causes right now because of hunger, it’s like keeping me up at night. So I had an idea.”

She highlighted the importance of ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF), which includes a peanut-based paste that can save lives and bring children back from malnutrition within six weeks. “It costs $67 to save the life of a child, so I’m going to run for those kids,” she stated.

Garner encouraged her followers to join the challenge by walking, running, biking, or rowing and to donate to Save the Children or any organization feeding children.

“Run, walk, bike, wheel, skateboard, crawl for kids.

Join me for one mile or for 67 — any time between now and June 22nd — tag us at #67Strong4Kids and we’ll keep each other going,” she added. The actress has been working with Save the Children for about 16 years, helping bring early childhood education programs to her home state of West Virginia and advocating for the organization nationwide. Save the Children acknowledges Garner’s longstanding relationship with the charity as an Artist Ambassador, underscoring her dedication to their cause.

“As I enter a new year, I feel compelled to do something, to put my feet on the ground for kids,” Garner wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. “If you’d like to donate $6.70 or $16.70 or $67.00, the link is in my bio. See you tomorrow.”

Garner’s birthday initiative has garnered widespread support, with many fans and followers inspired to contribute to the cause and take part in the challenge.

This effort adds another layer to her long-term commitment to charitable work, particularly in alleviating child hunger.
