Meghan Markle shared a special family tradition on Instagram to celebrate the UK’s Mother’s Day, also known as Mothering Sunday, on March 30th. The Duchess of Sussex posted a photo of a homemade pie decorated with orange slices and a red edible flower. She captioned the image, “Our family tradition.
Mothering Sunday in the UK 🍋.”
Since returning to Instagram earlier this year, Meghan has been more open about her personal life and experiences. She has shared snaps of baked goods and recipe tips, often featuring photos of her children with themed breakfasts. In a recent interview with People Magazine, Meghan reflected on rediscovering her passions as her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, grow older.
Family tradition for Mother’s Day
“When your children get to a certain age — when you’re not just playing in the sandbox with them but almost playing in your own sandbox again — it’s super joyful,” she said. Meghan added, “As a woman, a mom, and a wife, finding yourself again in a way that was always present but that you maybe couldn’t put as much attention on as you now can when your kids are a little bit older is a wonderful feeling.”
Earlier in the week, Meghan posted a picture of herself with Archie and Lilibet in their Montecito, California backyard.
In the image, both she and Lilibet wore matching straw hats, with Lilibet carrying a wicker basket while held in Meghan’s arms. Archie clung to his mother’s leg, and Meghan was dressed in a white button-down and blue jeans. Meghan also recently released the first season of her Netflix show “With Love, Meghan,” which follows her at home, sharing cooking, gardening, and hosting tips.
The glimpses into her family life and personal passions offer a window into Meghan’s world post-royalty, where she continues to find joy and fulfillment in her roles as a mother and wife.
