The second trailer for “Predator: Killer of Killers” showcases a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge. “Tonight, think of only one thing: killing the monster,” the warrior mother tells her son. The trailer then shows a giant alien being sitting atop a fortress, waiting for battle.

Other characters featured in the trailer include a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a Second World War pilot who investigates an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. “While all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers,” the producers’ synopsis states. “Predator: Killer of Killers” is an animated anthology that pits some of history’s fiercest warriors against the iconic extraterrestrial hunters.

Predator returns in Viking narrative

The film is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on June 6. Dan Trachtenberg, the acclaimed director behind “Prey,” directs the animated feature in collaboration with Josh Wassung of the animation company The Third Floor.

The script is by Micho Robert Rutare, based on a story he co-wrote with Trachtenberg. The news of two movies debuting this year was revealed at CinemaCon, where fans learned about “Predator: Killer of Killers” as a secret project. Trachtenberg has become a key creative force in the “Predator” universe, following his success with “Prey,” the 2022 sleeper hit on Hulu that starred Amber Midthunder as an 18th-century Comanche woman facing a Predator.

The franchise, which began with the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, has spawned several sequels, reboots, and crossover movies. “Predator: Killer of Killers” promises to continue the thrilling legacy of the franchise, delivering intense action and innovative storytelling that fans have come to expect.
