Amanda Seyfried will attend Series Mania to promote her Peacock series “Long Bright River.” The show, based on the Liz Moore novel, features Seyfried as a Philadelphia police officer working in a neighborhood with high drug use and a series of murders. “Long Bright River” will have its French premiere in the international competition at the festival. James Norton, known for his role as Tommy Lee Royce in “Happy Valley,” will speak at Series Mania with his Rabbit Track Pictures co-founder Kitty Kaletsky and Banijay UK boss Patrick Holland.
They will discuss the increasing trend of on-screen talent taking greater roles behind the camera. Norton and Kaletsky have upcoming projects such as CBS Studios’ “King and Conqueror” and recently premiered the ITV thriller “Playing Nice.”
Sally Wainwright, the creative mind behind “Happy Valley,” will also be featured at Series Mania. She will discuss her new projects with Drama Republic boss Roanna Benn.
Spotlight on industry leadership
Wainwright has created “Riot Women” for the BBC and BritBox and will share insights into her creative process and sources of inspiration. The jury for the international competition will be led by Emmy winner and “Better Things” star Pamela Adlon.
Notable jury members include Victor Le Masne, musical director of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Argentinian-American actor Ignacio Serricchio, British director Minkie Spiro, and French actress Karin Viard. Other international competition entries include Cooper Raiff’s “Hal & Harper,” Joe Wright’s “Mussolini: Son Of The Century,” and “The German” from Yes Studios. Additional speakers at Series Mania include “Heartstopper” executive producer Patrick Walters and Sky Studios head Cécile Frot-Coutaz.
