Shah Rukh Khan is in talks to team up with “Pushpa” director Sukumar for a rural political action drama. The film will show Khan in a new light as an anti-hero. A source said, “King Khan will play an anti-hero, but this will be a rural political action drama that promises to show him in a raw, rustic, and desi avatar.”
The project will explore themes like caste and class oppression.
It aims to offer more than just entertainment. However, fans will have to wait a while for this film. Both SRK and Sukumar have busy schedules.
Sukumar is working on “Pushpa 3: The Rampage” with Ram Charan and a romantic drama. SRK has an action film starting in May 2025 and a sequel to his 2023 hit. SRK has told filmmakers he won’t be free for new projects for at least two years.
SRK and Sukumar plan rural drama
The Sukumar collaboration might not happen until 2027 or later. Some think Sukumar’s team leaked the SRK news to shift focus from Pushpa 3.
Insiders say Sukumar wants to finish his next film with Ram Charan before looking at other projects. Bollywood media reports that SRK likes Sukumar’s storytelling and wants to work with him. Sukumar is said to have pitched a rural story to SRK.
This potential SRK-Sukumar film could be groundbreaking. SRK would play a raw, brutal anti-hero. But fans will have to wait as it likely won’t start before 2027.
If it happens, this project could be one of the biggest in SRK’s career. It would be a major collaboration with hit-maker Sukumar.
