Jason Isaacs, who plays Timothy Ratliff in HBO’s “The White Lotus,” has shared his emotional experience filming a scene in the season three finale. The 61-year-old actor said it was one of the saddest things he has ever done in his acting career. In the intense finale, Timothy nearly poisons his wife Victoria, son Saxon, and daughter Piper with piña coladas laced with poisonous seeds.
He changes his mind at the last moment and pours the drinks down the drain. The next morning, his other son Lochlan unknowingly uses the remaining seeds to make a smoothie. He is revived in his father’s arms, ending the episode with the family close to discovering Timothy’s illegal activities.

I tried, as much as I could, to be someone who thought the only way out—who’s also drugged out of his mind—of that shame is to kill everybody that he loves.

It just made me very miserable watching it again,” he explained. Isaacs watched the emotional finale with some of his on-screen family members and other co-stars.
