Brian Austin Green has opened up about his past relationship with Vanessa Marcil, describing it as “toxic” and comparing it to the Vietnam War. In a recent episode of his podcast, the 50-year-old actor reflected on how his childhood experiences with an overbearing mother influenced his romantic choices as an adult. “The relationship that I had with Vanessa was very toxic in that way.
It wasn’t a loving, caring relationship,” Green said. He explained that after two years with Marcil, he felt like he had lost himself completely. “You’re kinda looking at yourself in the mirror, and you’re like, ‘Who am I?
There’s not one piece of me that’s left,'” he recalled. Green and Marcil were engaged for two years before ending their relationship in 2003.
Acknowledging Megan Fox relationship
Despite the negative aspects of their time together, Green expressed gratitude for their son, Kassius, who was born in 2002. “I absolutely loved being a parent, and I think that was the first time in my life where I really felt like, ‘This is what I’m supposed to be doing,'” he said. Following his split from Marcil, Green found a new perspective when he met Megan Fox.
“Then Megan was a breath of fresh air coming out of what felt like Vietnam to me,” he shared. Green and Fox married in 2010 and have three sons together: Noah, Bodhi, and Journey. However, Green and Marcil’s co-parenting journey has not been without its challenges.
Marcil has previously accused Green and Fox of “trying to get full custody” of Kassius and claimed that she “raised [her] son alone.” These allegations have led to further disputes between the former couple. Representatives for Marcil did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Green’s recent statements about their past relationship.
