Demi Moore made a single request before filming her now-famous bikini scene in the 2003 action movie “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.” The actress, who played the role of Madison Lee, a former Angel turned villain, asked the filmmakers not to shoot her from behind. Moore, now 62, recently opened up about the experience during an appearance on “The Drew Barrymore Show.” She revealed that director Joseph McGinty Nichol, also known as McG, called her to start shooting in just three and a half weeks. “All I remember is begging them not to shoot my butt,” Moore recalled.
“I had no time to think about what I looked like, which was almost better.”
Barrymore, who starred alongside Moore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu in the film, praised her co-star’s impressive preparation given the short notice. “No one can do in three weeks what you showed up with. So you were clearly good to go,” Barrymore said.
Moore, who was 40 years old at the time of filming, also shared her surprise at the attention the scene garnered, especially because of her age. “I had no idea the amplification that was specifically tied to my age.
Demi Moore’s scene request
I turned 40 when we were shooting the movie,” she said. Interestingly, it was Moore’s daughters—Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout—who convinced her to take on the role after she had taken a break from acting to be with them. “They finally were like, ‘You have to do this movie.
We love the first one. And please, aren’t you going to ever work again?'” Moore shared. The actress believed it was important to show her daughters the “full expression” of who she was as a movie star.
Her appearance in “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” marked her return to the big screen after a hiatus. At the film’s premiere, Moore was supported by her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, their three daughters, and her then-boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher. The 2003 sequel to the 2000 reboot became a significant milestone in Moore’s career, showcasing her versatility and dedication to her craft.
